Raffle guide
How the equal-chance raffle picker works
This free random name picker gives every entered row the same chance to win. Add each person once, then run a fair raffle without managing ticket weights.
-
Add or paste the names
Enter one name per row or paste a single column directly from Excel or Google Sheets.
-
Check the equal odds
Each valid name counts once, so two people receive 50% each and four people receive 25% each. Odds can be hidden before drawing.
-
Choose the reveal settings
Show or hide the equal odds and set a reveal time from 1 to 60 seconds before starting the draw.
-
Review and start the draw
Select Draw winner, check the complete entrant list, then select Draw winner again to choose one name and begin the countdown.
What makes the equal-chance draw fair?
The picker uses the browser's cryptographic random number generator to choose one position from the complete list of names. Every row occupies exactly one position, so every person has the same chance. The winner is selected before the reveal animation begins.
Common questions
Raffle picker FAQ
What does equal chance mean?
Every row has the same probability. If there are 25 entries, each row has a 1-in-25 chance, or 4%.
Do duplicate names get extra chances?
Yes. Each row is a separate entry, even when two rows contain the same name. Remove duplicates if each person should be eligible only once.
Can I paste a list of names from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Copy one column of names from Excel or Google Sheets and paste it into the first name cell. A Name header is ignored automatically.
Can the same person win again if I select Draw again?
Yes. Draw again makes a fresh selection from the same list. Return to the entries and remove the previous winner if they should no longer be eligible.
Are the names saved anywhere?
The list stays in your browser and is never uploaded. It is not saved by default. You can turn on Remember on this device or download a local JSON backup.
