How repeats are avoided
The circle method keeps one position fixed and rotates the others after each round. That creates every possible pair exactly once in a full schedule. If the list has an odd number, an empty position rotates too, giving one person a bye in each round.

How many no-repeat rounds can you make?
A full schedule uses every possible two-person pairing once. Even-sized groups can make people minus 1 rounds. Odd-sized groups can make one round per person, with one rotating bye each round.

Pair-count formula: n × (n - 1) ÷ 2. The tool supports 2 to 60 different names and will not offer more rounds than the list can make without a repeated pair.

How do you make pairs without repeats?
The circle method keeps one position fixed and rotates the others after each round. This creates each possible pair once in a full schedule, and the tool rejects duplicate names before generating it.
What happens with an odd number of people?
One person receives a bye in each round. Across a complete schedule, the bye rotates so every person receives exactly one.
How many unique pairing rounds are possible?
With an even number of people, the maximum number of rounds is one fewer than the number of people. With an odd number, it is the same as the number of people because one person sits out each round.
